A smock apron to wear out.
Here I am, wearing it out...
(at Manchester Art Gallery). Not too sure I'll wear it that often, mind, I've come to the conclusion smocks are best suited to those whose ribs stick out...

ooh!! love it!!! did you do the smocking too? you should wear it out! it looks great on you!
I thought about doing 'proper' smocking (for about 10 seconds) and then cheated a bit by using shirring elastic. And the fabric's gingham which helps keep on line and pattern.
But it's all done by hand, took about 2 days :)
I think you look super cute in your smock. Very hip. Love the braid too.

Wow. I am embarrassed to say I've never encountered "real smocking" - now you have me running off to Google :) It looks amazing.
