DD and I escaped for a long weekend at the beach. So that's why the weather turned a lot cooler in case you were wondering... :)

We had a really great time on the beautifully unspoilt beaches of Prestatyn.

And because the weather was good for maintaining those green and pleasant Welsh valleys (did you know there are 4 million sheep in Wales?), I managed to persuade DD to do a few things I wanted.

On the pile there is a table runner in a traditional Welsh woollen blanket pattern from Trefriw Woollen Mills. I would have loved a blanket but they're unsurprisingly not cheap.

It's a great place though, you can see all the machinery in operation, much of it extremely old. And the setting and drive to it with Snowdon on the horizon was just gorgeous. There's tweed for a skirt and a flower felting kit from there on the pile too.

Then there's red linen, more apple print fabric and something that looks a lot like Amy Butler from Abakhan Fabrics in Mostyn which was completely spectactular. Some wool for a cardigan and some ribbon snuck in too...

ah yes, welsh woollen mills are the best! Lovely fabric from Abakhan's too. I used to shop in the Manchester one, but never anything as pretty as this!
